Outstanding Service from Kamil and Aameenah! I recently stayed at this hotel over the weekend, and I cannot say enough about the exceptional service provided by Kamil and Aameenah. As a Moroccan, hospitality is something I deeply value, and I was truly impressed by their professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, they made sure we felt welcomed and well taken care of. Their kindness, efficiency, and dedication to guest satisfaction were evident throughout our stay. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable experience, always with a smile and a willingness to help. This level of service is what makes a hotel stay truly special. The management is lucky to have such incredible team members, and I will definitely be recommending this hotel thanks to them. As a frequent business traveler to London, I’ve stayed in numerous hotels, but the Clayton Hotel City of London stands out for its perfect balance of comfort and convenience. Located just a short walk from the financial district and BT-One Braham's offices, it’s an excellent choice for anyone visiting for work. The hotel offers a professional atmosphere, with sleek, modern rooms that are well-equipped for productivity. The work desk is spacious and well-lit, which is crucial for getting through a few emails after a long day of meetings. The high-speed Wi-Fi worked flawlessly, which made connecting with colleagues and clients a breeze. What really impressed me, though, was the staff. Everyone was welcoming and attentive, but without being overbearing, which is exactly what you want when you're on a business trip. They helped with everything from early check-in to arranging taxis, making my stay smooth and hassle-free. The breakfast was more than sufficient for a busy morning — there’s a solid range of options, and the coffee was on point. Total neglect and disregard for fire risks and breach health and safety. Wednesday 29th January 2025 •Management had staff barricade a emergency fire exit door from the outside with cages and wooden pallets, this was done because so staff wouldn't use the fire exit.This would have been impossible to evacuate the building in the event of an emergency. Fire brigade had to get involved to remove the barricade. •Unsafe bulk storage of flammable materials (wooden pallets) up against building and gas cupboard. Left for weeks/months on end, continuous obstruction of Dry riser inlet. Tuesday 14th January 2025 •Street is riddled with anti social behavior with bins set on fire right next to hotel. •Scary to think what other issues are being neglected behind the scenes. •Many other options to stay close by. •Find photos attached of these issues.

Location is perfect. Literally opposite Aldgate East underground station. Also a very short pleasant walk from Liverpool Street station. The hotel first impressions from walking in the door was clean, modern smelt amazing! And the reception were very polite. The rooms were spotless, laid out well and very well designed and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Had a fridge and bottled water (a godsend!) They had a safe, tea and coffee.and nice biscuits too. The bathroom had a lovely big shower and lovely toiletries and decent soft towels. Evening meal was enjoyable staff very pleasant. The breakfast was delightful it was a hot and cold buffet with practically everything you could think of! This hotel is the equivalent to a 5☆ in every way. We will definitely visit again.

Was over for a few days between Christmas & New Years. Very handy location. Ideally located just beside the tube station making getting around London that bit easier. Staff were excellent and very helpful. The room was so cool, from the swivel mirror to the slide doors really nicely designed. Clean and comfortable throughout. They had loads of gluten free options to eat in the restaurant side of things. I will definitely be back.

Un hotel bien ubicado con buen servicio y habitaciones muy cómodas, adicionalmente tienen un gimnasio que se comparte con un edificio adjunto y que está muy bien equipado. Hay tarifas con desayuno incluido que también es muy variado.

My experience was definitely not enjoyable. First greeted by a receptionist that shows no hospitality and was going to charge me 100gbp more than I was supposed to. Luckily I took a second look and compare. And he didn’t even apologize… great manner. Then when I check out the toilet, realizing this is the for less mobile people. The room has a bigger size but the toilet has no separation of the shower which drives me nuts, so I went down kindly requesting for a change as I don’t need a less mobile room. A different receptionist is very keen on helping and being very polite this time, however, the same receptionist next to her started to say “but we don’t have rooms blah blah”, the new receptionist was very professional and said she will arrange it. So this chapter is closed. But my worse chapter is only starting. I stayed two nights, after the first nights, I felt itchy on my back and arm and thigh, but stupid me didn’t take it seriously, thought it could be the heat rash or mosquitos. At the moment when I checked out the hotel, I still didn’t realize they are bloody bed bug bites (this is my first time). When I arrive in Edinburgh, I took a closer look in the mirror, the zig zag and line bumps with blister are 100% beg bug bites. I couldn’t think of another place other than Clayton Hotel City of London since I have only slept there. It is impossible to get an examination and certification as a foreign traveler in Dec. I have only managed to get some cream and hay fever pills from the pharmacy. I really regretted that I didn’t check the mattress and bed sheets properly because I took it for granted. When I informed the hotel with this with a delay, they requested a certificate of the bed bug, which I don’t have, and they confirm there is no trace of evidence of beg bugs in the hotel. So I am really confused what that is and where I could catch that? I am a hygiene person and even OCD, so not likely I have beg bugs in my stuff. 😭 for what’s worth, I will not recommend this unfriendly hotel in staff and environment just for the sake of your safety. The location is good, but I would give up on that for no bed bugs thanks.

Great hotel and even better service. Shout out to Raj for his hospitality and service. Very polite, friendly and sympathetic to our needs and provided us an upgrade. Room is decent sized though I'm not the biggest fan of the bathroom being somewhat see through from the bedroom. Tv also offered casting which was a bonus. Would recommend for solo and couples

Hotel molto carino, in posizione ottima di fronte la fermata della metro Aldgate East. La stanza famigliare è piccolina, ma comoda. I letti molto comodi, doppi cuscini. Uniche note: funzionava solo delle 4 lampade vicine al letto, perché una era fulminata e le altre si accendevano con l'illuminazione generale della stanza (quindi inutili). Bagno confortevole, con grande doccia, a parte la tavoletta del wc che non era fissata troppo bene. La colazione è varia, ottima! Il personale molto discreto ma sempre cordiale. In generale, per Londra ha un ottimo rapporto qualità/posizione/prezzo!

The Clayton was an excellent choice to stay. The rooms are beautiful, with great amenities available. The hotel is ideally located near fantastic landmarks and Aldgate East tube station, but still offers a peaceful and relaxing stay. Reception staff were charming and helpful, and the breakfast is top-quality. I look forward to returning.

The room is sparkling clean, the amenities is okay, unfortunately there's no slippers for certain types of room so for people who can't walk barefoot, this is a negative side (you can't buy in the hotel either). Not all of the staffs are friendly, but doing their job well and acceptable (exceptional for the early morning shift and even the ones who's ready to go home in the early morning (7 am) on December 25th, 2024 they are the best... quick response, helpfull, and definitely friendly). The location is great but certain information regarding the exact position has to be informed either on the website or via email so that it will be easier to reach the hotel (it's only 2 minutes away from the underground but the position is quite tricky). In the middle of the night, the alarm was turned on twice and it's because someone was smoking in their room (maybe). It's better if in the future every customer is reminded about this. Overall... it's a pleasant stay with minor things to improve but totally acceptable.

The hotel was stylishly designed, featuring a well-suited breakfast buffet 🥐, a lovely bar 🍸, and a comfortable lounge 🛋️. Lunch and dinner options are also available. Three elevators ensured smooth access to the rooms without major issues. The room itself was tastefully decorated, thoroughly cleaned daily 🧹, and equipped with everything one might need, including a safe 🔒. Additionally, the hotel provided various toiletries such as soaps, shower gels, and shampoos 🧴. On the first night, we experienced a fire alarm 🚨. While this in itself wasn’t a major issue, the receptionist at the time struggled to clearly communicate the situation (someone had been smoking in their room 🚬). The unclear and complicated explanation resulted in the entire hotel gathering in the lobby for quite some time. The reception staff appeared overwhelmed by the situation, which would be concerning in a more serious emergency. The friendliness of the staff was inconsistent—some were very polite and attentive, while others seemed the complete opposite. Additionally, the rooms lacked toilet brushes, which would be useful for hygiene reasons, and the doors were somewhat thin, making them less soundproof than ideal. That said, the hotel was overall a good choice, with an excellent location just a 10-minute walk from Tower Bridge 🌉.

The hotel room was beautiful, Very modern, and bed very comfortable, Although the pillows ( I found ) were lumpy. There were a couple of issues we had , and one being that , the fire alarm went off twice early hours in the morning, due to another guest smoking in their room, so this one night ( 29/12 ) we had little to no sleep , and there was no offer of any compensation/ money off for future stays for this. As other guests we also unhappy when we were walking downstairs. The bar , ran out of draught larger also , and was struggling to get the pumps working and there was little substitute to choose from, as I wanted to celebrate due to my birthday. So it felt like that particular night was kinda ruined a bit. But , overall, the room was clean and tidy , And hotel close to the station.

Dobry stosunek jakości do ceny. Dogodna lokalizacja przy samej stacji metra. Do Tower Bridge spacerem. Obsługa przyjazna, pokoje wygodne i czyste. Codziennie sprzątany pokój. Śniadania smaczne i urozmaicone. Duży plus za bezobsługowe self-check in i check-out.

Clayton Hotel City of London - Excellent Service Overcame Initial Issues We recently stayed at the Clayton Hotel City of London and, while our experience initially started with a major issue regarding our room, the exceptional service provided by the hotel staff completely turned things around. From the moment we raised our concern, the team went above and beyond to address the problem promptly and professionally. A special mention goes to the manager, Filip, who truly made all the difference. His attentiveness, quick action, and genuine care ensured that we not only felt valued as guests but also that our stay was as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. Thanks to the dedication of the staff, what could have been a negative experience turned into a memorable and delightful stay. We truly appreciated the effort put into making us feel welcome and cared for. We will definitely be booking at the Clayton Hotel City of London again for our next trip and highly recommend it to anyone looking for excellent service and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
